COVID-19 update: Lincoln reports 34 cases Monday – WOWT

(WOWT) — Here is a summary of new cases and other COVID-19 stats reported Monday by health officials across Nebraska & Iowa.

Iowa numbers

As of 8 p.m. Monday, these are the latest case numbers for Iowa according to the state’s dashboard:

Individuals tested: 133,054, an increase of 1,764 since Sunday.

Positive tests: 17,578, an increase of 115 since Sunday.

Deaths: 459. A total of eight deaths were reported on Sunday.

Recovered: 9,394, an increase of 38 since Sunday.

Nebraska numbers

As of 6 p.m. Monday, here are the latest case numbers for Nebraska according to the state’s dashboard:

Individuals tested: 88,350, an increase of 2,300 tests since Sunday.

Positive tests: 12,355, an increase of 221 since Sunday.

Deaths: 150, no new deaths reported.

Lincoln reports 34 cases

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reported 34 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the community’s total to 1,090.

NDCS staff member tests positive

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services announced Monday a staff member employed at the Lincoln Correctional Center tested positive for COVID-19.

There are now 11 staff members of NDCS who have tested positive for the coronavirus.

NDCS Director Scott Frakes said the employee is now self-isolating at home. Anyone who came in close contact with them will be directed to self-quarantine.
