Coronavirus Numbers Three Boxes

Michigan is reporting 202 new cases of the coronavirus and 12 additional COVID-19 deaths.

Michigan now has 54,881 total confirmed coronavirus cases and 5,240 COVID-19 deaths.

The state updates these numbers every day at 3 p.m.

Sunday the state was at 54,679 confirmed cases with 5,228 deaths.

The state is now providing weekly updates on the number of people who have recovered from COVID-19. These numbers will be updated every Saturday.

As of May 22, 33,168 are being reported as recovered in Michigan.

The state defines ‘recovered’ as the number of persons with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis who are alive 30 days post-onset (or referral date if onset is not available).

Two out-of-state visitors tested positive for COVID-19 in Grand Traverse County over the weekend.

The health department says even though the two tested positive while in Grand Traverse County, they will not be counted as positive cases in the county because they are not residents.

The Grand Traverse County Health Department says they conducted contact tracing. As a result, six people in Grand Traverse County are self-quarantining and will be monitored for the next 14 days.

Isle Royale National Park says it is delaying its summer opening because of the virus.

Turtle Creek and Leelanau Sands casinos plan to reopen Friday. They say each casino has new COVID-19 safety measures in place.

And your returnable cans and bottles are wanted in Kingsley, where a youth center is trying to fill a bus with donations. The Rock of Kingsley Youth Center says they already filled the bus once—and the community asked them to do it again.

The U.S. has the most deaths and cases of any country by far, with more than 97,000 deaths among the more than 1.6 million confirmed cases.

Brazil now has the second-highest number of cases, prompting President Trump to put a travel restriction in place for the country.
